Thanks Leo. Shuffle Sundays makes me feel it's ok to just have fun and write about music sometimes, even though I have zero expertise.

In some ways, the 1980s was the decade of songs and soundtracks. I have a whole bunch from that era, and I discovered them in the late 1990s and 2000s. I miss the days of good soundtracks, something that once upon a time Hollywood excelled at.

So true. In Kenny Loggins' autobiography, he talks a lot about the music side of the movie business and how it took off in the 80s. He made a second career out of soundtracks--Caddyshack, Footloose, Top Gun, and others I'm not thinking of I'm sure.

Ferris Buller's Day Off is a perfect movie in my opinion, one of my fav's of all time. Love this dive into the background of the music used in that epic scene. I've always been so enthralled with the story I never noticed the music!

Thanks Rick! These instrumentals add so much to the scenes, and you're right--it's easy to miss them altogether.
